Description

The Formosa Plastics Global Archive (台灣塑膠檔案館) is a collaborative research and documentation project developed within the Disaster STS Network. The archive documents the global environmental footprint of the Formosa Plastics Group, one of the world’s largest petrochemical conglomerates with major operations in Taiwan, Vietnam, China, and the United States.

The project assembles materials from researchers, journalists, environmental advocates, and affected communities to document the social, ecological, and political dynamics surrounding Formosa Plastics’ industrial expansion. These materials include environmental monitoring data, legal documents, activist archives, photographs, field notes, and media reports.

By bringing these materials together, the archive aims to support comparative research on environmental governance, industrial pollution, and community resistance across multiple sites.
